Grilled “Magic Rump Steak”
Juicy rump steak from the grill, marinated with Pepico Classic seasoning
20 min.(marinate for 3 hours)
- Beef rump steak 200 g each
- 4 tbsp. Pepico Classic seasoning
Marinate the rump steaks
Remove the rump steaks from the refrigerator approx. 3 hours before grilling. Rub the steaks with Pepico Classic on both sides and then leave to rest in a storage box, covered, at room temperature for approx. 3 hours.
Grill the rump steaks
Heat the grill and sear the rump steaks for approx. 2 minutes on each side on the hot grill grate. Then cook the rump steak indirectly on the grill at approx. 130° C until done.
Serve the rump steak
The desired cooking level can be checked using a meat thermometer. When the meat thermometer has reached approx. 54° C, the meat is «rare» (bloody). This takes about 5–10 minutes. However, if you prefer your meat medium-rare (medium / pink), you should take it off the grill at approx. 59° C.
Season the meat a little with salt and pepper and brown in hot oil in a separate pan. Then carefully add to the chanterelle mustard sauce. Stir gently and serve.
Baked potatoes with crème fraîche and a green salad go well with this.
