Molybdenum is a silvery-white soft metal, which does not occur in a free form in nature. In nature, it occurs as a part of many minerals: molybdates and sulfide ores. Molybdenum is most often obtained in the process of copper production.

It keeps the dental tissue healthy by retaining fluoride, which prevents the teeth from decay and provides caries prophylaxis, as well as regulating metabolism and growth processes. Molybdenum stimulates enzyme activity involved in the synthesis of antiscorbutic acid and normal tissue respiration, which is necessary for normal cell growth and development.
