Potassium is a mineral element, necessary for normal functioning of cells of a living organism – it is their vital component. Even insignificant changes of the amount of this element in the body can affect its work. Potassium is eliminated via kidneys, if the eliminated amount is too large, hypokalemia develops leading to potassium deficiency.
