Description
Sambucus nigra is very rich in mineral and biologically active substances. It contains organic and fatty acids, carbohydrates, essential and fatty oils, steroids, anthocyanins, triglycerides, hydrocarbons, triterpenoids – the organic compounds involved in many metabolic processes, iridoids – the highly stable substance performing protective function in plant organism and the able to cope with infections. Sambucus nigra contains rutin, glucose and fructose, organic acids, essential oils, and the berries contain a large amount of ascorbic acid and vitamin C and ђ, carotene, tannins and other useful substances.
Usage description
It acts as a natural hair colorant, has a calming effect. Used as a diuretic and diaphoretic agent, compounds contained in them with P-vitamin activity strengthen capillary walls increasing their flexibility and reducing the permeability, also used for cold-related diseases and bronchial asthma.
