Glucose (C6H12O6), or grape sugar, or dextrose. It is found in juice of many fruits and berries, including grape, from which this type of sugar came. It is hexatomic sugar (hexose). Glucose is the main product of photosynthesis, is formed in the Calvin cycle. In human body, glucose is the principal and most universal source of energy for provision of metabolic processes. It is used as a sweetener, a preservative, an energy source in the BAA.
