Mallow (althea) contains many mucilaginous materials, ascorbic acids, vitamins and beta-carotene. It has a pronounced softening, encapsulating, calming and anti-inflammatory effect close to the effect of the althea officinalis preparations. For dietary supplement products it is a wild mallow (malva sylvestris) of family malvaceae. The flowers containing the mucic polysaccharides, flavonoids (derivatives of herbadenin, gossypin), carotene, vitamin C, anthocyans (malvin, malvidin), tanning substances and coloring agent malvin are used. It has an expectorative, encapsulating, anti-inflammatory, softening and astringent effect. It is used for the treatment of inflammatory diseases of the respiratory organs and gastrointestinal tract.
