For the dietary supplement products: The marigold or pot marigold (Lat. Calendula) is the species of herbaceous plants of family asteraceae. It contains the essential oil, carotenoids (-and -carotenes, lycopene, lutein,violanxanthin, etc.), flavonoids, saponins, salicylic acid, resins, slime, organic acids and traces of alkaloids. It soothes the central nervous system, reduces the reflex excitability. It has the bactericidal property in relation to a number of causative microorganism, especially staphylococci and streptococci.
Usage description
It has the anti-inflammatory, bactericidal (especially in the relation to the staphylococci and streptococci), antifungal, wound-healing and astringent effects, contributes to the regeneration of tissues. In cosmetics it is used an active moisturizing agent and tonic for dry skin, for acne outbreaks complicated by pyogenic infection.
