Pimento

Pimento (baybeny) is the immature seed taken from the dried fruit of evergreen pimento shrubs. Its seeds smell like cloves and have a spicy aroma and pungent flavor. When powdered, the spice is similar to cloves, cinnamon, nutmeg and pepper.
