Description
Ultraviolet B-type rays have middle length (make up only 5-10%) but they are the most dangerous: it is these rays that cause photodamage of DNA cells, mutation, cause cell death, lead to formation of malignant diseases of the skin and, of course, also are involved in photoaging of the skin. Ultraviolet rays with that length stimulate formation of melanin in the skin cells. It is a protection against these rays that effect of UV-B filters is directed on. This type of rays does not penetrate through window glass.
Usage description
It is used in cosmetic products to protect skin against ultraviolet B-type rays.
