Content of ascorbic acid makes up 2.46-5.20% of their absolutely dry weight or 3.22-10.84% of their absolutely dry weight. Pulp averagely contains 9.74 mg% carotene, 14.1% pectin, 1.58% citric acid, 23.93% total sugars, 18.56%invert sugars, 5.09% sucrose, 8.92% pentosans. About 4% of P group vitamins (dry weight), including flavonoids -quercetin, kaempferol, isoquercitrit and etc., was detected in fresh fruits. Syrups and fruit jellies are made of them. It is used for colds, as well as for immune system stimulation. It is included into the composition of Timusan.
